Short Stories
The first story I ever wrote "Black Lily" was published in Woman's Day in 1965. Having the first thing you wrote published in a prestigious magazine along with stories by Agatha Christie, Pearl Buck and other well known writers, was a great start. An unknown author appeared among them: Robin Green. That was me. I was too naive at the time to realise how rare that is.
I still write short stories, essays and articles on subjects that involve my passion for travel, history, fairness and science fiction!
Another story was "The Last Letter Home". A science fiction piece based on the sightings of giant cats in Victoria. It's a letter written by an alien trapped and dying on earth She writes a letter to her home planet describing life on earth. It won second prize in the Society of Women Writers Victoria, Christmas Competition 2008. Short Story section.
"To the Bitter End" The story of Joan of Arc's last day alive, told from the perspective of one of the priests who was with her. It won First prize in the Society of Women Writers Victoria Christmas Competition 2012.
The Burning of Joan of Arc
There have been a few other short stories, but I tend to write non-fiction more often.
My most recent story as yet unpublished is :
THE PEN
